What is a drought?
A drought is where there isn't enough water for human needs, animals and agricultural needs. This usually happens for an unusually long time. During droughts, other natural hazards can occur, such as bush fires and heat waves. 2 of the major droughts that occurred in Australia are the Federation drought (1895-1902) and the Millennium drought (2002-2007).
